I utilize straw work in my clients' vocal training. If you are not familiar with straw work, it is a method of training that utilizes a straw that helps the singer find breath and pressure balance in their voice. Based on exceptional science by Voice Scientist Ingo Titze and peer-reviewed studies, the straw has been recognized to be a training and rehabilitative tool for singers. It is all about managing pressure and resistance in the throat. The Voice Straw offers a few unique features that truly leverage the science on which it is founded. In short summary, the straw trains the posturing of the vocal folds by elongating the vocal tube, or epi-laryngeal space. Used correctly, the Voice Straw can help the singer attain vocal balance that transfers to their singing.
